Introduction

Despite challenging market conditions, Islamic finance continues to provide opportunities for transactional banking, capital raising and direct investment throughout the world. It is also emerging as an increasingly important mechanism for attracting funds from the Middle East to Asia and Europe, as demonstrated by bi-lateral arrangements signed between GCC and other financial regulators. However, to be involved in this flourishing sector, market participants need to understand completely new financing concepts, principles and terminology.

To facilitate with this task, Islamic Finance Training brings you a unique new program: Advanced Islamic Capital Markets & Investment Banking Structures. In three days we will cover the intricacies of Shariah-compliant corporate finance, investment banking, Sukuk and Islamic capital markets. Using existing Islamic contracts the course will allow delegates to structure highly tailored wholesale financing solutions for specific client requirements. Case studies and exercises will allow delegates to test various structures and situations, and work towards innovative but ultimately Shariah-compliant structures. The course will also cover specific advisory related transactions such as various merger situations undertaken using Shariah-compliant funding, and a bank conversion process.

This is an advanced level course and will not extensively cover the principles of Islamic finance and investment. Ideally delegates should have attended previous Islamic Finance Training courses or have equivalent practical experience.
